Abstract
Brief exposure of Micrococcus radiodurans cells to 0.02 M spermidine before fixation with osmium tetroxide for electron microscopy led to marked changes in the distribution of DNA within the cell. The altered appearance is consistent with the hypothesis of multiple attachment sites between DNA and the membrane.
