Abstract
The 32S(d,n)33Cl reaction has been studied at two bombarding energies of 4.70 and 5.50 MeV. The Q value of this reaction has been measured to be 62 ± 9 keV. The excitation energies of the levels observed are 812 ± 4, 1993 ± 6, 2351 ± 5, 2688 ± 4, and 2851 ± 4 keV. Neutron angular distributions for transitions to these states have been analyzed with DWBA and Hauser–Feshbach theories to yield lp values and spectroscopic factors. The lp values for transitions to the ground, 0.812 and 2.851 MeV states are 2, 0, and 1 respectively, in agreement with previous results. The analysis also favors lp values of 2 and 3 for transitions to the 2.351 and 2.688 MeV states respectively. The results have been compared with several other experimental and theoretical investigations.
