Abstract
A gamma-ray polarization measurement has shown that the 4.057 MeV level of 25Mg has spin–parity Jπ = 9/2+ in agreement with previous speculations regarding the structure of this state. This experiment illustrates that in selected cases a single-crystal Ge(Li) polarimeter is capable of giving useful polarization information for gamma-ray energies as high as 4 MeV.
