Abstract
Stylodrilus wahkeenensis n.sp. has been reported from three different localities in North America. The distribution of this new species confirms the widespread occurrence of the genus Stylodrilus in the Neartic region, mainly associated with groundwaters. The elongate hairlike setae in dorsal bundles are an interesting character shared with other meiobenthic lumbriculids inhabiting the interstitial milieu.
