Abstract
A computer program is described for computing the composition of highly ionized plasmas using the Saha equations. The computations were carried out on an IBM-1130. Suppressed ionization potential, total number density of the ions, and partition functions for ion species are calculated. These calculations are used to obtain an iterative solution of seven Saha equations to evaluate the percentage composition of the various species of the plasma. Calculations are reported for oxygen between 10 000 and 80 000 K and all species up to OVIII are considered to be present in the plasma.
