Abstract
Effect of ion-tail formation on the resistivity of a plasma in the presence of ion-acoustic instability has been studied. It is found that the resistivity is significantly modified due to ion-tail formation. The effect is particularly significant for higher fluctuation levels. The variation of the drift velocity, ion tail population, and resistivity as function of Ti/Te is investigated for different fluctuation levels and the results have been presented graphically. Conservation of momentum and energy is also checked.
