Abstract
The pure rotational absorption spectrum of gaseous hydrogen deuteride in the pressure range 3–500 Torr has been observed using a diode laser spectrometer. The measured frequencies of the three lines studied, R(3), R(5), and R(6), equal respectively 350.852 ± 0.002, 514.656 ± 0.001. and 591.9327 ± 0.0003 cm−1. The electric dipole transition moment deduced from the intensities of the R(3), R(5), and R(6) lines equal 8.47 ± 0.09, 8.1 ± 0.8, and 9.9 ± 0.3 × 10−4 D, respectively.
