Abstract
Polarization asymmetries for pion–proton radiative scattering are calculated based on an "external-emission dominance" model, for incident pions of 298 MeV and various coplanar and noncoplanar laboratory angles. The sensitivity of asymmetries to the various features of the calculation may be used to test the ultimate validity of the model which has been very successful in describing the experimental data near the Δ(1232) resonance region.
