CONTINUOUS-HEATING ADIABATIC CALORIMETER FOR THE RANGE 300 TO 475 °K—THE SPECIFIC HEAT OF α-Al2O3

Abstract

A continuous-heating calorimetric apparatus with semiautomatically controlled adiabatic shields is described. The calorimeter vessel is of novel construction. Measurements on the Calorimetry Conference Standard Sample of Aluminum Oxide give results about 0.25% higher than those tabulated by Furukawa et al. (1956).
