Abstract
The bidentate ligands diars (1) and diphos (2) react with iron carbonyls to give the previously known diarsFe(CO)3, diphosFe(CO)3, diphosFe2(CO)8, and the new complex diarsFe2(CO)8. The reactions of diars also yield compounds in which the ligand has been modified. DiarsFe(CO)3 reacts readily with chloroform to give a new paramagnetic iron carbonyl complex.
