Abstract
A chemical examination of Corydalis caseana has yielded a total of ten alkaloids. Of these, protopine, α-allocryptopine, bicuculline, corypalmine, and scoulerine are known alkaloids. The remaining five appear to be new and include: caseanine, C21H25O4N; casealutine and alkaloid F34, isomeric and represented by C20H23O4N; alkaloid F33, C19H21O4N; and alkaloid F35, C20H23O4N. The new alkaloids are phenolic except caseanine which is the monomethyl ether of casealutine and the dimethyl ether of aurotensine.
