Abstract
When dorsal nerves 7 or 8 arising from the Limulus accessory brain are sectioned, cardioacceleration results; direct stimulation of these nerves produces cardioinhibition. These findings demonstrate a cardioinhibitory function. The results of forebrain lesions suggest that these inhibitors may be activated by higher brain centers.
