Abstract
Glass slides with a thin coat of rosin were immersed in a stream. After 1 to 6 days they were recovered and examined under the microscope for trapped conidia of aquatic hyphomycetes. A total of nine species could be observed on such slides. By a filtering method, conidia of nine aquatic species were found; eight of them were identical with those trapped on slides. This suggests the use of rosin-coated slides for a simple and fast evaluation of the mycoflora of streams.
