Abstract
Borehole samples from the Vaureal Formation (Upper Ordovician), Anticosti Island, Quebec contain well preserved assemblages of chitinozoans; in this paper the specimens found in the Dicellograptus complanatus zone are described. In addition to the new forms recorded, Cyathochitina vaurealensis n. sp. and C. anticostiensis n. sp., the assemblages are characterised by Acanthochitina barbata and Lagenochitina baltica, species which enable a correlation to be made between the Upper Ordovician (Upper Caradocian – Lower Ashgillian) of Europe.
