Abstract
The embryonic movements of Caprella unica are apparently rhythmic and spontaneous, and they develop progressively into the activities of the juvenile. These movements begin several days before hatching, and at least 2 days before reflex response to tactile stimulation can be elicited. Within 10 h after hatching, the embryo has developed the agility of a juvenile, but it remains in its brood pouch for a further 25–40 h before it emerges.
