Abstract
The susceptibility of Mn2P2O7 has been measured from 4.2 to 300 °K. Mn2P2O7 is antiferromagnetically ordered below 14 °K with a spin direction in the ac plane at an angle of 22° to the a axis. A simple calculation of the anisotropy energy fails to predict the spin direction.
