Abstract
An infrared photographic technique was used to study patterns of blood distribution within gills of intact trout. Injection of adrenaline in the subintestinal vein produced a marked change in photographic appearance of the gill as it appeared swollen with blood and more blood was visible in the lamellae at the gill filament tips. The technique appears useful for studying large changes in gill vascularization.
