Abstract
Hydrolysis of (Et4N)[TaF6] with Et4NOH in organic medium gives (Et4N)2[Ta2OF10]. The Ta—O—Ta infrared and Raman frequencies reflect the linearity of the bridge, in agreement with a previous X-ray study. The 19F nmr spectrum is of the type AA′E4E4′. Chemical shifts are compared with other pseudo-octahedral species of tantalum with formula [TaF5L].
