THE ALKALOIDS OF LYCOPODIUM SPECIES: VII. LYCOPODIUM LUCIDULUM MICHX. (UROSTACHYS LUCIDULUS HERTER)

Abstract

Nine alkaloids have been isolated from Lycopodium lucidulum Michx. Three of these, nicotine, lycopodine, and alkaloid L13, have been previously described. The remaining six are alkaloid L20 (C17H27O2N), alkaloid L21 (C13H21ON), alkaloid L22 (G16H27ON), alkaloid L23 (C16H25O2N), alkaloid L24 (C16H25ON), and alkaloid L25 (C16H25O2N). These alkaloids represent but a small quantity of the total bases in the plant, the larger proportion of which it has not been possible to purify.
