Abstract
The 1/f noise spectra and conversion gain of 10 GHz point-contact, Schottky barrier and backward microwave diodes are compared with the object of determining the relative merit of their application in electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometers. These measurements were made absolutely using the tunable switching radiometer described by BRI and relatively by determining the EPR microwave sample cavity power required to produce unity signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) as a function of the demodulation frequency.
