Abstract
A new 3Πi–a3Πr transition of SiO is observed in the region 3700–3950 Å. The vibrational and rotational analysis gives the following constants for the upper 3Πi state (in cm−1)[Formula: see text]Another transition is also observed at about 2950 Å, which could be identified as a 3Σ+–a3Πr transition. Electron configurations are discussed.
