Abstract
The kinetics in the gas phase of the photochemical reaction between perfluorocyclobutene and chlorine was studied between 10 and 70 °C. The system was irradiated with light of 4360 Å. The rate of photochlorination was measured under full and intermittent light. The Arrhenius parameters for the reaction:[Formula: see text]are: A3 = (2.9 ± 1.1) × 108 1 mol−1 s−1 and E3 = 4.64 ± 0.03 kcal/mol and for[Formula: see text]the constant rate value is: k4 = (7.23 ± 4.3) 21 × 108 1 mol–1 s−1.
