Abstract
The API-20E multitest system was found to be capable of identifying Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates at least to the level of the Pseudomonas fluorescens group within 18 h at 35 °C. Additional tests, such as the acetamide reaction, growth at 42 °C, and the oxidative (OF) glucose test, assisted in the speciation of P. aeruginosa.
