Abstract
A microaggregation of the littoral cladoceran Ceriodaphnia affinis was found under laboratory conditions. The aggregation consisted entirely of females which produced ephippi. The dispersed C. affinis in the same container did not produce ephippi. This indicates that reproductive activity caused the aggregation.
