Abstract
The enzyme for transferring N-acetylglucosamine into an exogenous acceptor glycoprotein pre-treated with appropriate glycosidase has been found to be present in rat and human sera. The enzyme is present in soluble form and does not require Triton X-100 for activation. The pH optima, divalent cation requirements, and linearity with time and enzyme concentrations have been established. Normal human serum has three times higher activity than normal rat serum.
