Abstract
As haddock (Melanogrammus aeglifinus (Linn.)) approach the spawning period they practically cease to take food. This fast is continued throughout the spawning period. On the completion of spawning the fast is broken and the haddock feed voraciously for a few weeks regaining weight lost as a result of spawning.
