Abstract
A sepia-colored saccate Cyathus from 8000 ft on Mount Kilimanjaro is named and described. The leading features of the fungus are: the curly tomentum, the pale, conspicuous basal emplacement, the saccate non-plicate peridia, and the apiculate basidiospores. C. africanus appears to be related to the widely-distributed C. olla (Batsch) ex Pers. and to C. earlei Lloyd.
