Abstract
A search for the gamma decay of nuclear shape isomers excited by the atomic cascade of a negative muon has been undertaken in 236U and 238U. No candidate gammas have been found with yields greater than 0.2% per stopping muon. Muon capture lifetimes in 235U, 236U, and 238U are also reported.
