Abstract
Potassium chlorate irradiated with X rays has been found to contain chloride, chlorite, hypochlorite, and occluded oxygen, and probably also substantial amounts of dichlorine hexoxide and a trace of chlorine dioxide. The chlorite and hypochlorite appear to decompose during irradiation to chloride. G values are given for 25° and −196°. They vary little with temperature or dose rate.
