Abstract
Direct absorption measurements were made upon excited atomic hydrogen in a discharge tube placed inside a wave guide. Two ranges of wave lengths in the 3 cm. region were investigated. The results can be satisfactorily explained by absorption due to free electrons. Although the 2s[Formula: see text] to 2p[Formula: see text] transition of atomic hydrogen is in this region, no selective absorption was observed.
