Abstract
The incorporation of D-glucosamine-1-14C into homogenates, smooth and rough microsomes, and the cell sap of retinas from vitamin-A-deficient and pair-fed vitamin-A-supplemented rats was studied. The results indicate that vitamin A deficiency produced a highly significant increase in the incorporation of D-glucosamine-1-14C into the trichloroacetic-acid-precipitable material from the different fractions studied. The possible significance of these results was discussed.
