Abstract
The results of the measurements of the transition effects are shown for an electromagnetic cascade which has been developed in lead and has passed (before measurement) through the copper wall of an ionization chamber. The measurements were carried out in the electron beam of an accelerator in the energy range 100–550 MeV. The integral value of the transition effect was [Formula: see text] for a 2.5-mm-thick wall and it increased slightly with increase in the wall thickness. The values of the transition effects for the various age parameters of a cascade are shown.
