Abstract
Dinychus ruseki n.sp. is a Canadian species very closely related to Dinychus micropunctatus Evans, 1955, described from Alaska, with which it may constitute an ecospecies. The family Prodinychidae and the genus Dinychus are briefly redefined. An annotated list of the currently recognized species of the genus Dinychus, with comments on their distribution and habitat characteristics, is included.
