Abstract
The two species of green algae Scenedesmus obliquus and Chorella vulgaris were successfully adapted and grown in 99.7% deuterium oxide in 15-liter culture units. These units average 50 to 60 g of dry cells every 10 to 12 days. The deuterium oxide used in the media was recycled after purification to maintain usage at practical values.
