Abstract
When Streptomyces scabies is grown in liquid medium for 22 hours it produces a product that enhances the cytopathic effect of echovirus-infected tissue cultures. For convenience, this product has been named scaben. This report describes the production of scaben, some of its properties, and its effect on the cytopathic changes of tissue cultures infected with several echoviruses.
