RAMAN SPECTRA AND VIBRATIONAL ASSIGNMENTS FOR TWO FORMS OF TETRAPHENYL CYCLOTETRAPHOSPHINE

Abstract

Raman spectra have been obtained and vibrational assignments made for two isomeric compounds of tetraphenyl cyclotetraphosphine. The asymmetric P4 ring stretch has been identified near 500 cm−1 while the symmetric ring-breathing vibration most probably mixes with other low-frequency motions and is not explicitly assigned.
