Abstract
The proton and fluorine high resolution nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of p-fluorotoluene are discussed in terms of the case A2A2′X. The 4 × 4 submatrices are diagonalized in analytical form and therefore explicit values for all energy levels can be obtained. The spectra are consistent with [Formula: see text] which may be of theoretical interest.
