Le Clauzadella gordensis gen. et sp. nov., ascomycète lichénicole non lichénisé (Verrucariales, Verrucariaceae)

Abstract

Clauzadella gordensis Nav.-Ros. et Roux gen. et sp. nov., a parasymbiont ascomycete on Verrucaria viridula, differs from species in the genus Stigmidium by its obviously bigger ascomata, periphyses, and asci, thicker, violet tinged ascoma wall, distinct ostiolar channel, and triseptate mature ascospores. Clauzadella differs from typical members of the Verrucariaceae only by its scarce, inamyloid hymenial gelatine. The genus, as well as Stigmidium, is considered to belong to the family Verrucariaceae (Verrucariales).
