Abstract
Summary
This paper presents a generalized methodology for hydraulic fracturing pump schedule (PS) optimization to maximize a stated objective function. The methodology is illustrated using an example where the objective function of interest is return on investment (RoI) of a single planar fracture in a horizontally layered tight gas reservoir. The method considers both deterministic optimization and optimization under uncertainty with a stepwise solution and the core algorithms described. The resultant PS is operationally realizable, and the results are compared against a base case.
