Modeling a Fractured Well in a Composite Reservoir

Abstract

Summary We develop a new model for a fractured well producing a composite reservoir. In this model, the vertical fracture may transect the inner zone of the composite-reservoir system. Computational issues are addressed so that the development given here becomes a practical tool. We examine results pertaining to systems in which damage is deep to demonstrate the utility of the model.
