Abstract
Abstract
As a result of a low pressure around wellbore, a liquid condensate saturation ring radially propagates the well reducing the relative permeability to gas. This phenomenon can occur even if the average reservoir pressure remains above the dew point pressure. Unless the pressure gradient stabilises around the well, the condensate ring continues to grow and the gas-oil ratio varies accordingly.
This paper presents application of horizontal well in heterogeneity gas condensate reservoir. Horizontal wells theoretically can improve productivity due to minimizing pressure drop around wellbore (higher PI). The primary goal of the study is to examine the difference in production performance between horizontal and vertical wells for different heterogeneities in gas condensate reservoir. Result demonstrate the effect of heterogeneity and average permeability values. It is shown that level of heterogeneity was found to have no effect in production performance but the layering pattern or distribution of heterogeneity was found to have more important effect.
