Abstract

Abstract Managing produced water, hazardous waste & open pits in onshore oil & gas operations presents multitude of challenges including high water cut, unavailability and effectiveness of wastes disposal facilities & backfilling material, which warrant PETRONAS to find a holistic solution to resolve these challenges. With the implementation of The OASIS Solution, these challenges can be effectively managed and convert them into valuable resources that will benefit our operations and contribute to the upgrading of the surrounding communities. Upon successful implementation, this solution will address the high water cut wells that in turn, will unlock potential additional barrels of oil, and potentially provide cleaner water for irrigation purpose, fuel pellet for waste incinerator, fertilizer for agriculture and insoluble material as pits's backfilling medium.
