Abstract
Abstract
Gel and microfine Cement treatment have been pumped for production well WOR reduction. There have been cases where treatment has been pumped and results were below expectations. This paper describes an innovative approach in water control that enable reduction in water production and significant increase of hydrocarbon recovery. Two case studies are provided where a systematic methodology was employed to correctly diagnose and resolve excess water production on wells producing at 90% water cut before the intervention. Candidate selection, treatment design, and implementation for the two cases will be discussed including future treatment design enhancements.
