Abstract

<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Although our previous experiments showed that the excitation of piston-connecting-rod coupled vibration in engines affects the vibration characteristics on the engine outer surface, the effect of the coupled vibration was not confirmed in the engine outer surface vibration in 3D simulation. This study investigated the effect of the vibration transmission characteristics by changing the joint models around the small end of the connecting-rod from a nonlinear spring to an elastohydrodynamic lubrication joint.</div></div>
