Abstract
The aim of this work is to publicize, analyze, and discuss the failure of Brazil’s public authorities to release data on the country’s LGBTQI+ population, mainly on deaths and violence suffered by its trans women. The problem centers on the crucial role played by the publication of data on murders and violence suffered by the LGBTQI+ population, mainly trans women, as the main method for reducing violence and raising society’s awareness on respect for life and human dignity. Our hypothesis that it is by means of publicizing information (internet, media, technology), whether by public bodies or the media, that we may deconstruct the negative and hetero-patriarchal cultural heritage which trivializes violence against trans women. The research takes the deductive method as methodology alongside bibliographic and documentary research techniques.
