Abstract
In our article, we are going to focus on the results obtained in our research which aimed at checking spelling skill of Algerian students. The corpus analysis in which we used three types of tests: dictation, writing and copying exercise allowed us to come out success as well as failure. Some mistakes made by Algerian students are common with those made by French native speakers; others are however specific to the Algerians. We have more particularly noticed the important impact that the phonology skill has on the more or less successful spelling practices in all suggested tests.
