Abstract
Recently, active mode-locked optoelectronic oscillators(AML-OEO) have attracted much attention and discussion due to the characteristics of their output signals. In this paper, a structure of AML-OEO is proposed, which has the advantages of adjustable output signal center frequency and individually adjustable pulse duty cycle. Our experimental results show that this structure generates signals with a tunable range of 14 GHz in the center frequency, an individually adjustable duty cycle of the output pulse signals, and an output signal with a phase noise of up to -118.25dBc/Hz@10kHz. The structure is more compact than other tunable AML-OEO structures, which provides a new solution for the future integration of AML-OEOs.
