Abstract
In many optical disk systems, diffraction from a pregrooved disk produces a "push-pull" pattern in the reflected beam which is used to generate the tracking error signal (TES). In some cases, effects of the pregroove diffraction also show up in the focus error signal (FES), resulting in an unwanted variation of the FES. This phenomenon is known as focus crosstalk.
