Abstract
Models of thermally-induced mode instability, taking the backward
reflection into consideration, has been derived, and influence of
backward reflection on thermally-induced mode instability has been
studied numerically for the first time. Numerical results reveal that
one percent of backward reflection can result in 33% reduction of mode
instability threshold.
