Abstract
In this paper, a wideband optically transparent absorber based on multilayer indium tin oxide (ITO) films is designed, fabricated, and measured. The structure uses polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and ITO films to replace the dielectric substrate and metal pattern of the traditional absorber to achieve optical transparency characteristics. The absorption of the proposed absorber is above 90% from 4.92 to 24.55 GHz and exceeding 95% in the range of 5.74 ∼ 21.85 GHz, respectively, under normal transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) polarized incidences. Moreover, it shows outstanding stability with various incident angles over a wide range. A prototype of the proposed absorber is fabricated and experimentally verified, with good measurement results. The optical transparency and great absorption performance make the absorber a promising candidate for transparent electromagnetic compatibility.
